Bridal Fashion

Trends for 2020

With the popularity of Instagram and Pinterest, Brides are now collecting photos and ideas of their perfect wedding. I am shown photos of skirts, bodices, beading, button details etc and design their dress incorporating all of their favourite style features. Having a Bespoke dress made is starting to become popular again where, in the last few years, Brides have been finding cheaper dresses off the internet and compromising on what they actually want with keeping the budget down. Styles are feminine, romantic Boho or glamorous. Shapes are curvy or A- line with fewer large “Princess” dresses. Soft net petticoats give the shape for a larger skirt rather than the dated hooped petticoats! Illusion backs are still popular this year (low, backless dress filled in with sheer fabric/tulle or lace.) More Brides are going for stylised weddings with a relaxed Bohemian styled wedding or 50’s style dresses being another favourite theme. Again, Instagram and Pinterest are where Brides are planning the whole look of their weddings. Embellishment comes in soft pearls and clear sequins/crystals that just catch the light (day/artificial light) or diamante for a bit of bling! ……………………………………………
